Are you eligible for cancer insurance?

Don’t worry – qualifying for cancer insurance is actually fairly simple. Critical illness insurance often requires a more extensive underwriting process, but a cancer insurance policy is comparatively easy to get. Regulations vary with individual providers, but (in general) there are just two conditions you must meet in order to qualify for supplemental cancer insurance.
1) You cannot have a currently existing cancerous condition. If you have already been diagnosed with any type of cancer, you will be ineligible for a cancer insurance policy. Cancer insurance comes before cancer, not afterwards!
2) Usually, you cannot have been diagnosed or treated for cancer in the past. While some policies will have different requirements, in general a prior cancer diagnosis means you will not qualify for cancer insurance. Your insurance provider may request medical records or talk to your physician in order to make sure you have never had cancer before.
However, if you think you may be at risk for any type of cancer, you are encouraged to take out a cancer insurance policy as soon as possible! Visit the “Vital Facts” page on CancerPlans.com to learn more about different types of cancer and risk factors. (For instance, a family cancer history may increase your chances of contracting cancer.) CancerPlans.com provides a convenient online platform for you to compare top-rated carriers and apply for a supplemental insurance policy.
